Mark graduated from Glasgow Dental School in 2007, achieving a distinction in the final professional exams. He has a passion for dentistry and has aspired to be a dentist from an early age. Since graduating he has had a varied career, working in Lanarkshire for four years in a mixed practice, then as a dental officer with the Australian Government, then part-time in private practice in Dumfries, as well as part-time in Carlisle. In May 2017 he took ownership of Lismore House Dental Practice. Within dentistry, Marks passions are endodontics (root canal treatment) and working with composite (white filling materials). Mark has provided orthodontic treatment throughout his career and has completed further study within this field. He is dedicated to expanding his core of knowledge and regularly attends courses and participates in Continued Professional Development. Out with dentistry, Mark is a keen gardener and fisherman.
Rebecca graduated from the University of Glasgow Dental School in 2007. She became joint owner of Lismore House Dental Practice in May 2017. Prior to this, Rebecca practiced within two predominantly NHS practices in Glasgow for four years, she worked as a dental officer for the Government of West Australia and she worked in Southwest Scotland between NHS and private practices. Rebecca is passionate about dentistry and her gentle caring nature means she is a natural at putting anxious patients at ease. Out with dentistry Rebecca enjoys travelling, interior design, cooking and baking and she is interested in various arts crafts and design.
Dr Hemant Yadav did his Bachelor in Dental Surgery from The Manipal University in 2000. He followed this with the Master’s degree in Prosthodontics from Ragas Dental College, Chennai. After moving to United Kingdom in 2006 he has continued his education and did his second Masters in Dental Implantology from university of Salford in 2012. Dr Yadav has been placing implants for a few practices in south of Scotland for many years now and dental implants are major part of his daily clinical practice. His experience ranges from single units to multiple full arch cases and bone grafts and he works closely with referring dentists, encouraging them to restore their own implant cases. Outside work Dr Yadav likes to hike in the Scottish countryside on weekends. He also travels regularly for the professional conferences to keep himself updated with latest advancements in dental Implantology.
Jackie is a qualified dental hygienist. She qualified in 1987, receiving her training within the RAF and serving for a further 5 years. Following her time with the RAF she lived and worked in Cornwall, moving to Carlisle 2001. She works at Lismore House Dental Practice on a part-time basis. In her free time, Jackie is a keen gardener and has an interest in photography, walking and is an animal lover.
Mary is a qualified dental nurse and has been so since May 2000. She has worked at Lismore House Dental Practice since 2007. Apart from her nursing duties, Mary oversees some of the management aspects of the practice such as clinical audits, organising staff holidays and maintaining stock levels. She lives in Carlisle and has two children. Outside work, Mary enjoys Zumba, as well as other fitness activities. Her keen-to-help spirit is evident throughout her life, often helping at charity events and fundraising for worthy charities.
Ruth started working at Lismore House in June 2006, making her the longest serving member of staff. She was trained by Mr Foxton, qualifying in 2008. Ruth enjoys the day-to-day challenge of her job. As well as her chair-side nursing duties, Ruth is our decontamination lead, ensuring the implementation of strict decontamination standards. She is also responsible for the upkeep and testing of practice equipment. She is a great support, always willing to help anyone in any way she can. Outside of work, Ruth enjoys holidays, socialising, spending time with her nephews and going for long walks with her dog.
Gemma has been a dental nurse since 2003, joining the team at Lismore House Dental Practice in 2015. She has a wealth of experience. Gemma lives in Carlisle and was born here too. She is the proud mother of a daughter and is a fountain of knowledge on a wide range of subjects. She is a keen runner and is married to a very keen cyclist.
Kay is our front of house and practice receptionist. Kay relocated to Carlisle from Yorkshire in 2014. She has worked at Carlisle Dental Centre since 2014 and started working at Lismore House in 2015. She is an excellent receptionist and does her best to put any anxious patients at ease from the moment they come into the practice. Outside of work, Kay helps a friend with a furniture business, allowing her to express her artistic side. She is keen on the outdoors, walking and socialising with friends.
