CROWNS
If a tooth is very heavily restored, has been root treated, or has broken badly it may benefit from a dental crown, instead of a normal filling. Crowns restore a tooth to normal function and strength, as well as beauty.
A crown is a covering which is cemented over a prepared tooth. A crown is usually placed to provide strength to a heavily restored tooth, although they may also be placed to improve the appearance of teeth. Crowns can be made from various materials: they may be made entirely of metal, metal and porcelain or modern ceramic materials.
